Who runs Winston
Winston is a personal assistant built and used by one person, Máté Szücs. It runs on his own computer. It has no other users and no public service.
What data Winston accesses
With the owner's permission, Winston uses read-only access to his Gmail account (the gmail.readonly scope). It reads the sender, recipients, subject, date, labels and the short preview of recent messages.
How the data is used
Only to sort messages into groups and show them to the account owner on his own computer. Winston cannot send, delete or modify email.
Where the data is kept
- Message data is held in memory on the owner's computer while Winston is running. It is not written to any server.
- The Google sign-in credentials are stored in the macOS Keychain on the same computer.
Sharing
Winston does not share, sell or transfer Google user data to anyone. The data is not used for advertising and not used to train AI models.
Winston's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Removing access
Access can be withdrawn at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Removing the stored credentials from the Keychain ends all access from the computer.
